Philosophy

The philosophy behind our curriculum is that young children learn best by doing also known as “Learn through Play.” From our vast experiences we have found that learning requires active thinking, doing and experimenting. This is how we discover how many things work in our world.

As we are dedicated to the success of all children at this critical time from age 3 to 5 years and up. We want to ensure that we support each child with individualized instruction academically as well as emotionally. We will follow the child’s lead and track their progress to ensure that they are meeting developmental milestones. We encourage children to become enthusiastic learners confidently exploring their own ideas and think their own thoughts.  It is our goal to help children become independent, self-confident, and inquisitive learners. As teachers and parents, we are teaching our young children how to learn.  We are allowing them to learn at their own pace in ways that are best for them. We want them to be happy, to experiment, and to be successful in life.

We facilitate learning in our supportive, intellectually stimulating environment where children can explore and learn from our different interest areas such as Math, Language, Practical life, Sensorial, Geography, Botany, Zoology and Art.  we plan and provide opportunities and activities that allow the children to work together as a team, but also provide opportunities for children to work individually. We set up these learning centers based on the children’s needs and interests. We use assessment data collected by us to help plan activities.  Each day we have both structured and unstructured learning activities.  On a typical day we could have a small group activity where the children learn about for example bugs, they can explore those bugs in depth in the science center, they can read about that bug in the reading center and then draw bugs in the art area. We may even go outside and look for that bug.

These opportunities help provide a great base of experiences that will positively prepare children to live lives filled with personal satisfaction, as responsible, concerned citizens. The activities we plan for children, the way we organize the environment, materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with children, are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school.
